The vultures get a whiff of the de Blasio carcass

December 23, 2016- In this past week, since the leak of the news that two different grand juries had convened to decide whether to indict Mayor de Blasio for corruption, the political vultures have started to circle overhead. City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and City Comptroller Scott Stringer have both insinuated that they plan to run for mayor next year. State Senator Dan Squadron is now attacking de Blasio over the nursing home deal that is part of the federal investigation.

However, all of those politicians were ardent supporters of Mayor de Blasio, right up until the grand juries convened. They also supported, and existed because of, Sheldon Silver.
